This non-therapeutic biosimilar antibody shares variable regions with therapeutic Ipilimumab, ideal for research. It binds human CTLA-4 (CD152) — a 33 kDa Ctla4-encoded receptor (CD28 family, on activated T/B cells) that, like CD28, binds B7-1/B7-2. CTLA-4 negatively regulates cell-mediated immunity, aids immune tolerance, and is a cancer immune checkpoint target.
