This non-therapeutic biosimilar shares the same variable regions as therapeutic Vedolizumab, ideal for research. It reacts with integrin α4β7 (LPAM-1, formed by 150 kDa α4 & 130 kDa β7 chains, Ig superfamily, expressed on peripheral lymphocytes, thymocytes, bone marrow progenitors). LPAM-1 binds VCAM-1, MAdCAM-1, fibronectin to aid lymphocyte adhesion/migration. The biosimilar specifically binds α4β7, inhibiting its binding to MAdCAM-1/fibronectin (not α4β1/αEβ7 or VCAM-1).
